Motswiri Private Safari Lodge is nestled in the Madikwe Game Reserve, a malaria-free wildlife sanctuary in South Africa’s North West Province. Located near the Botswana border, Motswiri Private Safari Lodge is easily accessible by road, with well-maintained routes leading to Madikwe’s Wonderboom Gate. The lodge is approximately 4 to 4.5 hours from Johannesburg or Pretoria, 2.5 hours from Sun City, and 1.5 hours from Gaborone, Botswana.

By Road (Self-Drive)
Self-Drive Directions from Johannesburg & Pretoria
- Take the N4 highway towards Rustenburg.
- Continue past Rustenburg towards Zeerust.
- In Zeerust, turn right at the KFC onto the R49 (Madikwe/Gaborone road).
- Follow the R49 for approximately 97km towards Madikwe Game Reserve.
- Turn right at the Wonderboom Gate sign and enter the reserve.
- Drive towards Motswiri Private Safari Lodge (approximately 30 minutes inside the reserve).

- The last stretch inside Madikwe Game Reserve is on gravel roads but is accessible by a standard vehicle.
- Speed limits inside the reserve must be followed to ensure the safety of wildlife and visitors.
- Gate opening times: 06:00 AM – 18:00 PM. If arriving later, special arrangements must be made in advance.
- Although it is accessible in a standard vehicle, one with a higher ground clearance is preferable.
